Do the right thing!

It is strange how easy it is to do the wrong thing. Nobody really needs to take classes, get a life coach, or read up on all of the latest ways to make poor decisions, be a bad person or to do the wrong thing. For what ever reason most people seem naturaly gifted at being able to do the wrong thing. Often I wonder if this is a born ability or learned behaviour?
*
There is rarely a critical point in Peoples' relationships where they absolutely must decide to do the wrong thing or its over. How often do we feel absolutely trapped to the point that the only thing left to do is the wrong thing. It is strange that the correct or proper thing to do in an instance are more often than not the last option, such as dietary choices, interpersonal choices or basic self-control choices.
*
I guess to me it really seems to make so much more sense to concentrate on doing the right thing rather than being certain I dont do the wrong thing. When we say yes to the right things, we are simultaneously saying no to many wrong things.

Listening!

Have you ever tried to hear the voice of God? It is quite interesting how people try to hear the voice of God. It is often a fascinating tale of an elusive pursuit that thankfully ended. It all begins with a person being confused, backed into a corner, or simply at the end of their rope. This is when we begin our pursuit. So we limit God as it all begins with what the person wanted and ends at some result. Hmmm thats how most of my relationships work, minimal conversations, thats how people show love for each other.

*

Why is it so hard to hear God's voice? The way it seems to be presented is that you have to become a monk or some type of recluse move to the mountains and forsake everything modern to "really hear his voice". There are worship songs dedicated just to wanting to hear His voice more, and wanting to know Him more. This is also an interesting view, I didnt know that it was God's responsibility to help us get to know Him.

*

Why is it so time consuming to try and hear His voice? This one seems to make sense a bit, as any quality relationship takes time to develop healthy comunication, but it seems that many people become time martyrs so they can hear the voice of God. For being the God of all creation he really needs to work on the whole efficency part of communication for oursake as there is only so much time.

*

Why is it so unusual for people to hear god's voice? When people hear from God it is always this major epiphany or life changing moment. Which makes sense if the living God is communicating to a person, but it seems so rare and so super-spiritual to hear from God. If you reference hearing His voice, you must really be a Christian.

*

What if God uses all of His creation to communicate to us all the time. What if he is in the endless pursuit of ultimate intimacy with us. What if He is trying to comunicate a deeply meaningfull message to us all of the time. In the book of James he says "Draw near to me, and I will draw near to you." What if this is not a positional move on His part, as he never changes, but rather when we finally draw near and listen, our walls are down and we hear what He has been saying the whole while.

*

Maybe its not that hard to hear his voice at all. Maybe it is just difficult for us to listen because we are distracted. Maybe we hear His voice all day, but don't recognize it because we dont listen to what we hear. Intentional pursuit never ends.
